I'm in the first stages of planning an entry-level SQ System for my VW
Golf. I have some ideas what I want to do for amplifiers (JL Slash Series), Boston Z's in front, not sure about rear fill. Thinking about a single 10" Alpine Type R or Eclipse or Boston Pro. But the head unit has me stuck... I would like to be able to play MP3s (I know this is counter to SQ, but I like the convenience of when going on a long trip to just be able to throw a single CD in and listen to music for a few hours). I also want something reasonably tasteful (ie no color screens). I really like the Idea of a DEX-P9 combo and there seems to be nothing negative anyone has to say about it, unfortunatley it's lacking MP3 ability, same with a Rockford 8250 (although I don't know what I would do for EQ on this, maybe audiocontrol?). This leads me to an Alpine 9835 (which has the MP3 ability) and also the ability to interface to the H700, but would the Alpine setup give the same quality? Any other ideas? Thanks, Adam |
