Default Dress Covers for Xfrs.

Do you know those dress metal transformer covers, that many commercial amps
have? Some cover individual transformers, while others may cover all three
or more. They are usually finished in black. Of course they come in all
sizes and are most likely custom built to give a finished appearance to the
amp.
Question is ... Can I buy some? I think they would add a nice touch to my
amps. Thanks for any input.

That was an excellent suggestion, Jon. They only sell one size though. Some
covers I have in mind are for individual xfrs, but others are the width of
the entire chassis and have louvers or vent holes. They are like partial
cage covers, if you know what I mean. It use to be that an honest question
got several answers, but now answers come sparingly unless the subject is
controversial. I wish we were back in the days gone by. I'm not sure what
happened, Seems like many Rodents are a little down. I can't believe that PA
caused all of this. Oh well, guess I'll keep schlepping. Thanks for the tip.

West,

I've bought some XMFR covers for Lundahl iron from kandkaudio.com for $36
ea. They are nice cast aluminum finished with matte black powder coat.
They work great with one of my custom chassis . . . ;-)

It's my understanding that Horace Atkinson makes aluminum transformer
covers in just about any size. I don't think he has a website but
here's his email addy.

Thank you Bob. I got off an e as soon as I saw your post. Hope it works out.
Could be a bit of business his way. I wonder what happened to Tim Williams.
I thought he was the metal man and wrote to him twice with no response? Oh
well, maybe this will pan out. Thanks again.

Hi Tim,
Honestly, I never received any mail from you. Can you resend. I know you
always respond, that's why I was puzzled. I get mail every day from all over
the world. Is there an attachment or something that my anti-virus and
firewall won't let through? Thanks and please resend.
