I suspect, just as with the Sovtek 7199 that the Sovtek 5Y3 rectifier is not
a 'true' 5Y3.

My suspicion comes from the fact that the foward voltage drop of the Sovtek
5Y3 seems to be an order of magnitude lower than a real 5Y3, significantly
boosting the resulting B+ in my amps.

Has anyone experienced this with the Sovtek 5Y3?

Also, where can one find data sheets on Sovtek tubes like those available
for Svetlana?

Update............

Had a friend bring over several NOS US examples of
5Y3 and 5Y3-GT.

Compared to the Sovteks they seemed very similar.

The problem with my amplifiers was boosted B+ from
a Vintage power transformer.

+122 VAC will do it every time!
