My turntable platter doesn't stop!
Even when the arm automatically returns to base. The platter just keeps
spinning. I have a RankArena turntable. |

Have an expert check the operation of the switch operated by the arm, and the alignment of levers and rods et all under the TT. They often play up as they age. Patrick Turner. |

On that thing they will come across as anyting other than 'gold' Ayn Marx HA! Don't judge before you listen! My RankArena is an oldie, but she plays crystal clear "black gold" better than some 1200s I've heard from DJ pals around here. The Technics 1200 that most DJ's use is not a very good turntable from a purist point of view. the Direct Drive is pretty warbly. but for DJ it is a great machine because of the pitch control the tone arms are rugged and the thing stands up to abuse pretty well but doesnt mean it is all that great sounding. My Marantz 6100 and my Dual 1218 sound way better. Just my opinion. YMMV Doug |

Look for a leaky or shorted capacitor connected across the power switch.
(Its purpose is to suppress a loud pop in the speakers when the turntable is switched off). --Chuck "ComoEstasAmigo" wrote in message ... Even when the arm automatically returns to base. The platter just keeps spinning. I have a RankArena turntable. |
