Default CoolEdit 2000 question

I have been working quite some time with CoolEdit 2000 without problems.
However, since today I have a problem with recording.
While recording the record level stops at about 50% or -6dB. The result is
that the amplitude of my recordings are cut off at about 50%. I suppose it
is just a preset that has changed but I can't find the solution.
Can somebody help me?
Thanks in advance,
Max

You may very well have adjusted the recording level in the Windows
Recording Control. If you click on the speaker in your system tray
Options Properties Recording OK Button... Check the Auxiliary or
Line-In volume to see if it's at 75%. If it's set half-way then there's
the problem.

Are you recording in mono?

Peace,
