Am I wasting my time trying to find replacement 6 x 9 rear speakers for my
Bose system J30 Infinity? The current speakers have their own amps running
at 1ohm. The amps are fine but the speakers are deteriorating and IMO the
speakers weren't good to begin with. Rather than put a new head unit in a
car with 95,000 miles, I'm looking for an inexpensive way of getting some
decent sound. Am I dreaming?

I think you might be.. As far as I know there are no 1-ohm 6x9 speakers
on the market right now. And with such a low impedance, sound quality
might suffer a little bit. I would reccomend getting a 2-channel amp and
buy the convertors you need to take the signal from the Bose h/u and
feed it to you aftermarket amp. Then find a good set of 6x9s and you can
stop the dreaming....and start listening.

You are wasting your time! Pretend you don't have a Bose system prone to
failure, and replace the o.e. speakers with aftermarket coaxial ones which
are all four ohms. Get an aftermarket cd head unit, also four ohms, and be
happy! P.
