My sony 333ES recently died. While I thought it was a pretty good amp, i'm
pretty ticked that I only got 4 years out of it. Looking for a good amp to match my paradigm monitor 7 fronts / titan v3 rears Some local shops offered me these that looked pretty decent, but would like opinions on how to best match the paradigm speakers. Choices we Yamaha RXV650 Denon AVR1905 Harmon Kardon AVR135 Onkyo TXSR 602 Any opinions on these or suggestion on a better receiver? Thanks nighthawk |

I'd consider an NAD home theater receiver. A bunch have sold recently on
Ebay for the $300 range, though the cheapest new 5.1 (I forget the model #) retails for $599, so probably sells close to $500. I consider even that one as better than any of those you list. I've heard that NAD has many bugs
I had a NAD before and had problems, so I'm staying away from them, as much as I love the sound Thanks for the suggestion though! "Cordovero" wrote in message ink.net... I saw a lot of positive comments on avsforum.com for the Pioneer
VSX-1014TX. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...866598,00.html It sounded more clear to me than my NAD T761. It has 110w x 7 ch MOSFET amp, rated at all channels driven (that is important). It also has a 5 band eq, THX certified, a 192kHz/24bit DAC. You can find it online for $400-500. It is a great bargain. I liked its sound better than the $800 Denon and Yamahas. |
