If you high pass the 4 high enough, it shouldnt be a problem.

I'll step in!

Anyone know if a CDA-9815 will tolerate a 2 ohms load? The HU is fan
cooled so I suppose the IC won't melt. Any idea of the 2 ohms power
output?

which isnt bad if you have smaller-size speakers that wont take
a lot of power.

This is not directly against you but I wonder why people always
recommand against using components on HU power. Because a speaker have
a 250 watts rating doesn't mean you absolutely have to feed it as much!
25 watts will play too! According to specs, component are no less
efficient than coax. So, what gives?

Just because one decide that 25 watts/channel is sufficient in his car
doesn't mean he have to suffer marginal coax to go along!

(End of rant!)

Cheers!

What two ohm speaker are you using?

There usually is an efficiency difference, more often than not.

Hello. I looked at the Image dynamics CXS54. They have a 2 ohms
version (CXS52) and I wondered if this could be an easy way to pulls out
a few more power from the HU amps.

It'll be just barely noticeable. Whether or not it's worth the extra heat
on a notoriously hot deck is up to you.
