Dear experts:
I need advice on a digital audio recording set-up to be able easily to record and listen to rehearsals of our music group (a trumpet, a horn, an accordion and a guitar). We already have external mikes and an amp and speakers that we would want to use. What equipment would be most appropriate? Would be nice if the device was smallish and also easy to connect and use. Many thanks for any suggestions. Sergei |

You have a budget ? Does it have to be (very) portable ? All-in-one or computer-based ? Answers there would help to give you suggestions:-) cheers, Rudy |

Thanks for the reply, Rudy.
- I think that we'd like two channels but if there is an opportunity of getting a reasinable sound from one, so be it (ease of set-up is important, as we will be setting the thing up every time we rehearse) - It does not have to be VERY portable, - we have enough computers around but it would be nice if the set-up each time we use it were not too complex - budgetwise, we don't need the top of the line but it would be nice to have a good quality sound to hear our mistakes, etc. Thanks Sergei |

As for specific models / brands, maybe others can give you some info on that :-) Rudy |

ups.com Dear experts: I need advice on a digital audio recording set-up to be able easily to record and listen to rehearsals of our music group (a trumpet, a horn, an accordion and a guitar). We already have external mikes and an amp and speakers that we would want to use. What equipment would be most appropriate? Small? How about a Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox 3 (NJB3) and a Behringer MXB 1002 mixer? Both will operate off batteries or line voltage. Together, they are pretty small - definately fit in a briefcase with loads of space to spare. In fact you might fit them in a mic case with room for a few mics to spare. The NJB3 is out of production but new and/or refurbed items are still available on eBay. Would be nice if the device was smallish and also easy to connect and use. Roger that, for this combination. |
