Today my rear channel started buzzing real badly. I changed it to
another speaker to make sure it wasn't the speaker. I got the buzz off another speaker, so I know the channel is bad. Is that something I should try to get fixed or would it be cheaper to buy a new one. It's a JVC 8000 VBK, which has all I need, DTS, Dolby Digital, plenty of inputs... |

Before making any decisions, why don't you try and get a free or relatively low cost estimate of what it would cost to repair your receiver? For example, in my area, a well-regarded electronics repairment will examine any piece of audio gear and give a repair estimate for twenty dollars. If a repair is authorized, the $ 20.00 is deducted from the actual repair price. This seems like a reasonable approach to me. Bruce J. Richman |

Some of your connections might have become shorted or corroded. |

You won't know for sure until you get an estimate, but I suspect you'll come in under $100.00. |
