Anyone have an opinion on this? I tend to like big speakers for "wall of
sound", such as rock and full orchestral music. I like smaller speakers for smaller ensembles like jazz trio, or solo guitar/singer. It's almost as if more drivers represent multiple "voices" better (even though I doubt that's it.) Big speakers have the drivers spread out usually and present a larger soundstage, apparently. I'm sure that timbrally there should be no differences, all else being equal. Anyone know any small speakers that can play full orchestra well (with subwoofer), or really big speakers that make one or 2 "voices" sound tight and localized? What are some of the best speakers for big sound, and for smaller sound? |
