Default Software for online, real-time music collaboration??

I am not looking to do anything crazy. Just 2 or 3 musicians playing
together realtime. What I envision is one user being the master, and the
others the slaves. The master has backing tracks, which he streams. The
other users receive that stream, and then send out their own stream which
each user receives and mixes. Is there any way to do this? I imagine latency
must be a huge issue...

Yeah, that master/slave analogy might have some folks streaming through your
front door!

You can be the first on your block to run an S&M studio. Depending on where
you live, you might have more biz than you can handle.

There is no real time music software.
Set up an FTP server.

There's a site called www.fuseboard.com that allows online music
collaboration. I upload my stuff there, then have friends, pick it up
and play over it. I think it has realtime potential as well... but
we've never needed to do that.
