Wanted: cards for WE tube tester
I'm looking for a complete set of cards for a Western Electric KS-15874 L2 tube
tester. (This was a WE-branded high-end Hickok Cardmatic, essentially the same as the military USM-118 and the civilian model 1234.) By "complete set" I mean the so-called general set, cards for non-WE tubes. Condition needs to be as good as possible, and I would like blanks, calibration cards, and the punch for making new cards. I've checked e**y and the usual sources, but thought I'd ask whether somebody here might have the tester and cards stashed in a closet (new and never used, of course). Thanks for looking. You're doubtless familiar with Fair Radio Sales http://www.fairradio.com/ but they're fun to check with from time to time anyway. Good luck in your search, Chris Hornbeck " ** .......... :-0 !!!! " |

Will the cardmatic cards work in these machines? You might ask on rec.radio.amateur.boatanchors since there are a couple of Cardmatic users who are regulars there. You can also check with Chaffee Hickok at 707-544-4122. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |

By "complete set" I mean the so-called general set, cards for non-WE tubes. snip I, too, have a Weco "Kearney Spec" version of the 1234, and the full card case, but it's mostly Weco tubes, since I got it from the Bell operating company for which I worked. If you're looking for "new, never used" condition general coverage card sets, be ready to auger in for a long, long wait...they're basically "unobtainium." Ditto the calibration cell. The Weco set came with about 100 blanks and the "bus ticket punch" for which to make new custom cards, and is contained within the steel card case. ....and no, I'm not selling mine! LMAO dB |

Hello Avery.
I am pretty sure I can put together a complete set for you. It's a lot of work, and the cards are scarce these days, so it won't be cheap. But if you are interested drop me an email at . -Phil WB5PVL On 03 Dec 2004 00:41:27 GMT, (AComarow) wrote: I'm looking for a complete set of cards for a Western Electric KS-15874 L2 tube tester.
