AOL has been pretty bad lately, so I have been having to go to google half the time. I wrote the AOL "newsmaster" to complain, you probably have one at your ISP too. My local server is excellent so since there have been several end points missing messages, there must be constipation upstream someplace too far away to point a finger at. Usenet news is a "best-effort" protocol. No mechanism for monitored handoff, etc like for email. I have seen my own posts disappear on my own server (Supernews), but be visible elsewhere (at the office where we run our own news server, on Google Groups, etc.) |
