Hi. I'm trying to figure out a way to wireup a standard microphone to
my Samson UHF Series One UTL1 wireless body pack - specifically an AT shotgun mic. I can't seem to find any information around on how to go about this. I've tried making a cable up based on what I could find for a wiring diagram, but I can't quite get it to work. It's extremely quiet and requires gaining the transmitter/receiver up, which gets very noisey. Any info would help. Email me! Thanks! |

The AT requires phantom power, if it is any of the AT shotguns I know of (well, the 9000-series thing didn't, but it was total crap). The Samson pack does not produce phantom power. You might be able to build a battery box with a transformer in it to provide power to the AT and an unbalanced output to the Samson, but you really want to use the right tool for the job, which is a butt-plug style wireless pack that provides phantom power. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. It needs to be one that uses a battery. I can't seem to find any information around on how to go about this. Don't know about Sampson but Telex and Sabine units supply either 5 / 3.3
volts.... not enough for a phantom powered microphone.... add a phantom supply in line and things should work... if your At shotgun is battery powered this does not apply...
