Recording audio to BETA
Hi,
Im new to this so help is welcome. Were shooting a dance festival taking place in the city. Taking a mix out from the FOH (XLR +4) into a Behringer Eurorack 1204 mixers mic in 1 and 2. The trim pots on the mixer are minumum. the Balanced outputs from the 1204 (XLR) are going to the XLR audio inputs of the Beta recorder. (PVW2800) Now there is a switch at both the inputs of the BETA recorder. options are : Low and Hgh. High has two suboptions. +4dBu 600ohms/10k ohms selectable. (we have it set to the center position (600ohms i think) I am unable to locate the manual for the recorder. Could some tell me what purpose does the 600ohm and 10k ohm load serve ? I am also unsure of whether its ok to run a line level signal into the mic input of a mixer. should i instead be using XLR to TRS cables? Though everything seems to working allright. Thanks a ton. If it doesn't sound distorted, it's probably fine. I'd switch it to 10K though. The Behricker may not like being loaded down with driving a low impedance load. There's your answer. If it sounds fine, it is fine. Personally I'd go into the line input just to minimize the risk of an overload, but if that's not happening, don't worry about it. -- "It CAN'T be too loud... some of the red lights aren't even on yet!" - Lorin David Schultz in the control room making even bad news sound good (Remove spamblock to reply) |
