Tried to fit some Focal Utopia 165W in my car and depth became a hug
problem. Now I am faced with getting either Focal PolyGlass 165V2 ~$21
or MB Quart QSD 216 ~$600 online. I am into sound quality. I hear th
MB Quarts are harsh but that seems to be a general statement and not t
a specific product they are making. I know there is a huge pric
difference and Amp requirements are different. Ignore that and just le
me know which one has the best SQ and why.

The Denver area is slacking in higher end audio shops. Those that d
high end stuff do not have any demonstration setups. Others can onl
order in high end equipment but do not have displays of them, only th
more affordable products are on display. So I am dependant upon you

I wouldn't call the QSDs harsh, I really like them. IMO all of the Focals
(even the Utopias) are a bit harsh for my taste.

they both have metal dome tweeters (the focals are inverted) made by
each company. some people like metal dome tweeters, some think they
are harsh. if you think they're harsh, try some silk tweeters like
dynaudio, and diamond audio have. they will be less harsh and probably
more to your liking. peace, jps

You can't really group them like that. I like a tweete that's a bit more
laid back, but i like the Quart Q-Series tweeter and the Diamond metal tweet
is nice too. The Diamond metal dome has a rubber surround so I think that
tends to damp some of the resonances metal domes usually have.
