Default RNP output question: 1/4" TRS??

I'm about to buy some cables, so I hope someone can answer this
question about the RNP preamp. I will be going from the RNP into an RME 9632
soundcard. The soundcard has two input options: 1/4" TR unbalanced or XLR
balanced.
I would prefer to use the XLR balanced input on the soundcard.
Looking at the back of the RNP, it says that the 1/4" output jack is TR. I
have read that the output can be run either with balanced or unbalanced
options. If I want to use the balanced option, can I use a 1/4" TRS cable
coming OUT of the RNP, with an XLR jack on the other end, going into the
soundcard? Will this maintain a true balanced signal? Thanks for your help!
