Microphone suggestions?

Live, he uses an SM-58. There's a lot of "mic craft" involved: Keep
the mic close for bass, but off to the side so that the PFFFTTTT of his
"snare" doesn't create some nice 60MPH wind noise (80kpH outside the
US).

I'm tempted to stay with the '58, both for the familiarity and also 'cuz
something like a D112 is a bit unweildy for how he uses it, and handheld
seems to be a must for him.
