Hello all,
I used a MOTU 2408/PCI324 along with two 1224s for years, until the mobo gave up. The replacement system (Soyo SY-TISU, PIII-1GHz, Intel 815EP chipset, U160 SCSI hard drives, Win98SE, 512Mb) has never played well with the MOTU stuff - cranky about shutdowns, frequent blue screen of death, and other issues that have given considerable grief. A clean install results in a rock solid system with no issues until the MOTU stuff is added, so I'm pretty much convinced that they are causing the problems. I considered upgrading to Win2K Professional (with all the tinkering I do, I absolutely refuse to use XP for obvious reasons), but am hesitant to do this for fear of introducing more problems than I already have. Any experience out there with the PCI324 in a Win2K system? Has anyone using Windows "upgraded" to the PCI424 with good results? Since MOTU tech support seems totally Mac-oriented, should I just sell the MOTUs and go with M-Audio or someone else that's more committed to the Windows platform? If so, any suggestions? Thanks in advance... |
