Hello everyone,

I two AKG C414EB; one with the brass capsule and one with the teflon
capsule. Are these capsules interchangeable?

The reason that I want to switch them is that the microphone with
brass capsule has faulty switches and its capacitors are in poor
condition. The one with the teflon capsule has recently had capacitors
and switches replaced... so I want to pair the best capsule with the
best electronics.

Switches are available from AKG.
Capacitors are probably not that much of a problem .. Fix the old one and have
two decent microphones rather than messing around with creating a Frankenstein.

The switches are available from AKG. Be very careful not to shear off any
of the screws into the chassis casting, like I recently did on one. Thank
god for watchmakers !
