![]() [I sincerely apologize for reposting this, but I think I previously gave a very unclear subject line] I have a Kenwood Receiver KR-V6080, with the factory remote RC-R0502. That remote works fine. *HOWEVER*, when I use any kind of 3rd party all-in-one or learning remote everything works except the volume. It just sits still. I've tried 4 remotes, 2 were learning from the working remote! Does the kenwood listen to multiple frequencies, or sonics or something else that the standard remotes /don't/ "do" ? I'm trying to tame an audio-video system that has grown out of control an inch at a time. -- Iamamanofconstantsorrow,I'veseentroubleallmydays.I bidfarewelltoold Kentucky,TheplacewhereIwasbornandraised.Forsixlong yearsI'vebeenin trouble,NopleasureshereonearthIfound.Forinthisworl dI'mboundtoramble, Ihavenofriendstohelpmenow....Maybeyourfriendsthink I'mjustastrangerMyface, you'llneverseenomore.Butthereisonepromisethatisgiv enI'llmeetyouonGod's goldenshore. |

If you have already, I would guess that the code transmitted consists of a preamble and then data. Some times learning remotes will not take into account the necessary preamble when learning. If you have a PDA or PDA phone with a IR port, you can generally figure out what the original transmits. r |

Could this problem be related to your earlier pot problems? -- Sander de Waal " SOA of a KT88? Sufficient. " |

Could this problem be related to your earlier pot problems? No. (note to others, he's referring to the /potentiometer/. He's not saying that the volume control only seems broken because I have a problem smoking pot. Perhaps I should start. ![]() This has been something I've noticed from the begining. And some googling around shows someone getting a response from one of the remote companies (damn---I cannot find the post) saying that older remotes were using too high a frequency. I do notice that some of the one4all manual .pdf's claim that they'll only learn from remotes below 100 Mhz. (Khz? I forget.) ANOTHER quandry: It seems that some remotes require more than one code for the same one device or they will split functionality and work with only some of the features! Huh????? It seems the more I did into this, the more goofy the world seems.... -- Forgetthesong,I'dratherhavethefrontallobotomy... |

Well, I'm in Holland, so whwnever you feel like it....... :-) ANOTHER quandry: It seems that some remotes require more than one code for the same one device or they will split functionality and work with only some of the features!
