A large multinational operation led by the US Secret Service, called Operation
'Firewall', has led to the arrest of a number of suspects involved in identity
theft around the world. According to reports, suspects from eight US states and
six other countries were arrested in the operation. Around 1.7 million credit
card numbers were allegedly stolen by the thieves, along with other financial
information worth US$4.3m.
