Core Sound's Mic2496 is a portable dual mic pre-amp and A-to-D converter
that provides 24-bit word widths and samples rates from 32 to 192
kilosamples per second. It is easily held in your hand, runs on a
single nine Volt battery and provides switchable 48 Volt phantom power.
It has dual ganged volume controls, LED indicators for "activity" and
"clip", a low battery indicator and provides both coaxial and optical
digital outputs. It also accepts power from an external wall
transformer or battery pack.

Priced at under $500, it's the lowest priced 24/96 dual mic pre/A-to-D
available. And it sounds wonderful!

It makes a fine high-resolution digital front end for our PDAudio
handheld 24/96 recorder, Nomad Jukebox 3 and iRiver iHP-120 hard disk
recorders, and aging DAT recorders.
