Hello all,

I'm very new to the car audio scene. I have recently purchased a
powered subwoofer by Kicker. It is a 10" sub with a 50 watt (?) amp
on board. It was a demo model which was being sold off cheap. It
wasn't hook up in the showroom so I couldn't hear what it sounded
like. The salesman told me to try it in my car and take it back if I
are not satisfied. I have not installed the sub yet because 1) I am
not sure of the quality of this sub (with the small amp) and 2) I am
not 100% on the details of the install.

If anyone has any experience with this subwoofer - could you please
let me know your opinion. Also, if someone could point me to a page
where they explain the steps of a sub install.

Your satisfaction will directly relate to your expectations of the system.
It works great for people just trying to add a decent amount of low end. If
you are expecting ear piercing levels it is not the system for you. I would
install it and see how you like it. Worst case you return it and have the
wiring in place for a separate sub/amp combo.
