Default Golden Oldie Record Players

I was considering getting a record deck to transfer my old vinal to
MP3. The Bush TT1, which has a built-in preamp came into consideration
but perhaps I would do better to consider a decent quality second hand
deck.

Any suggestions? The Pioneer PL-11 and PL-12D, THORENS TD150 and
TD160, Dual CS 505-2 are all around on ebay, would these make good
purchases? What should I look out for?

Perhaps I should just go for a new Project 2 deck with it's ortofon
cartridge. BTW any recommendations for cartridges? Staunton 500, Audio
Technica AT91, Shure?

One last thing, are there any useful tools for setting up record decks
I should get?

TIA
