It's just that we see Brits in movies and TV shows and by comparisons to
actors on our shows, there is a definite difference. American actors tend to
have their teeth capped or straightened to achieve a picture perfect smile.
It also seems that on average Americans expend more effort on things like
braces to straighten teeth. All this is based on what is seen in
entertainment and the occasional news footage, AFAIK.
