Rotel 1056 and Cambridge Audio Azur 540R
Hi All,
I am looking for a receiver to power my Paradigm Studio 100's, CC470 and ADP 470. I am considering the Azur 540R and the Rotel RSX-1056. I know that the Rotel is more expensive, so my initial choice is the 540R but I was wondering if I will see much difference in the quality of sound and if one or the other will drive my speakers better. The Rotel also gives me a better upgrade path. The preamp outs allow me to add a separate power amp to the front speakers and use the built in amp to power extra rear speakers for 7.1 or as Zone 2. Does anyone have any experience with either? What do you folks think? Thanks, Scient |

The azur sounds much better than the rotel, IMHO. A cleaner, much more dynamic sound... The rotel was flat and dull and "polite", to put it mildly. The cambridge also has preamp outs, but no 7.1 or zone 2 stuff. |
