Default Audio Alchemy Power Supplies

I have an Audio Alchemy "Vac in the Box" phono preamp with a dead
power supply. Seeing as they haven't been made in recent years, I was
wondering which other Audio Alchmey components would use the same
power supply? For example, would a DITB use the same power supply as
the VITB?

TIA,
Eric

I'm just guessing here, but it seems to me that you might have an
instruction manual that would tell you what sort of power supply is
required, or that info would be printed on your AA gear, or any audio
tech could tell you what sort of power supply you'd need.

Or are you looking for an actual AA power supply, not a substitute
power supply with the same specs?

I remember the AA gear from years ago, but am not really familiar with
it. Have you tried using Google.com to search for web pages, images,
and newsgroups for AA info?

Also, it seems to me that some independent repair shop was taking over
repair work on AA gear. You could probably find that with some
searches. I think this shop was mentioned in newsgroups years ago.

Other places where you might ask:

rec.audio.high-end

rec.audio.tech

Does any AA gear have tubes? Is so, try:

rec.audio.tubes

TIA,
Eric

Back in the days when there was lots of AA stuff around, and the power
supplies were dropping like flies, word had it that people were doing well
with Radio Shack power supplies with the right ratings and connectors.

I've done Google searches and I've found out that the power supply on
some AA gear (like mine) use a connector simlar to a mini stereo jack.
This is becuause the PS feeds a +- 12 to 15 volts. I haven't be able
to find a power brick that does that. I have found schematics to
build a simple PS. Not that I don't trust myself to follow a simple
schematic, but if I can find one that's already built I know it will
work (and there's no possiblity of blowing up my VITB).

Googling, I saw Dusty Vawter of Channel Audio listed awhile back in
newsgroups as doing AA repairs. See the URLs for Google searches below
for more info.

You could probably find that with some

One more thought: If you search eBay.com, there seems to be a small
amount of AA gear there. If you search eBay.com and bookmark your
search, then search every week or so, I bet that you'd eventually find
an AA power supply.

Also, there are some online high-end audio dealers you could search
for that might have AA gear. For example:
