I have always been...and always will be a boston acoustic fan... how
do they compare to focal ? i am mainly talking about 4x6 plate
speakers...and 6x9 2way speakers. Any thoughts/comments?

I actually like the Bostons better. I think the Focals are a little shrill
personally. I find the Bostons bright, but not overbearing.

That's funny, Paul. I feel the exact opposite. I had some 5.25 Boston Pro
series components and thought, comparitively speaking, that they were very
bright. Not as bright as MBQ, but bright nonetheless. I always thought
Focal sounded much smoother and more reserved.

Of course, I've never had either brand in 4x6 plates or 6x9s.

Does either company sell 2 way 6x9's ??? I thought those were phased out by
the mid 90's...

Nothing will ever compete with my old Coustic 6x9 3 ways... Well, maybe my
buddies Pioneer 6x9 4 ways

Funny how different people's ears are. I find Boston and Infinity speakers so
bright that they come off as harsh and under-detailed. To my ear, Focals are
bright as well, but not quite as much as those other two, and MB Quart would be
the least bright of the bunch. I personally find MB Quart and Focal to be *far*
superior to anything being put out by Boston, but that's a personal preference.
As far as 6x9s go:

1) Focal does not prduce 6x9s

2) MB Quart makes one, the DTC 169, part of the Discus Line

3) Eclipse makes a 4-way 6x9, the SE8493

4) Pioneer makes a 3-way, the TS-A6970R, a 4-way, the TS-A6980R, a 5-way the
TS-A6990R, and a 2-way REV Series (not bad at all for the money), the TS-D690R,
And

5) Blaupunkt makes four 3-ways, the ODx693, TSx693, PCx693, and PCxt693

Those would be my primary candidates.

I knew you were going to say that ...

When is the US going to return to reality ?!? France (and everyone else for
that matter) has the right to choose what action their military is involved
in. The US does not have to approve of the choice that is made. Most of the
world already dislikes the US (especially their foreign policies) and, if
this nonsense keeps up, that will escalate to a hostile attitude.

I shake my head and shrug my shoulders ... what can be done?
