The high end(CD, Amp and Receiver) factory system on 1995 Toyota
Avalon died so I installed a Sony Combo CD/Radio head unit. I could not find an adapter that would work so I had to go to wiring diagrams and run new wire to the existing plugs. All works well except I'm not sure what to do with the Blue lead that controls the antenna. The schematic to the A27 Auto Antenna Motor and Relay has 3 wires that bring power to the unit (looks like 2 are always hot and one is fed by Acc position of switch). It also has one ground wire. All of these wires do not need changing in any way, but there are 2 signal wires coming from the Radio and Player -- how do I connect these? There is some sort of control logic that is only shown as a block in the schematic, so it is impossible to tell exactly how it works. So the question is how do I connect the Blue Wire to these 2 wires, or can I? Does it need a separate signal for antenna up and down? Help would certainly be appreciated. |
