Used classical records are not something to be used for investment purposes. Although I think the next couple years will be good times to buy collectable classical records. Collectables markets are tricky things. I remember all those people rushing to McDonalds to get Beenie Babies. Mc Donalds mada a killing and left collectors with nothing special. Try getting your money back on any modern trading cards. Even animation cels have proven to be dicey investments. I wonder if the market on collectable jazz LPs will ever drop. That still looks as good as real estate in terms of investment value. Of course true collectors real interest in value is all about bragging rights. Hard core collectors aren't usually willing to sell unless it is a means of supplementing their collecting. Did you notice also the date on the article, 1998? Carl |
