I've posted this on RAMPS as well hoping that someone will be able to
fill me in. I just got an AKG ULS with a ck63 cap... It's got a very crisp and immediate character. I mean I am REALLY digging it. Now the bad. Every mic I've ever used (that's worth a damn) has handling noise. It's usually a "tick-tick" through the headphones... or a "tink-tink"... or even a "thud-thud" on good mics... I'm referring to what you hear through the phones as handling noise... when you tap on it. Okay now the 480b/ck63... if you tap on it with your fingernail or EVEN tap the XLR cable... it "pings"... I mean it pinggggggs. Almost like it was intended to be an instrument intended to make that sound. Has anyone else experienced this Thanks |
