days is designed by bean counters. Even High End stuff.

Tweaking units will almost always lead to a better performance, at
least to the one doing the tweaking.

I wasn't disputing this. I was only pointing out that Graham's pal Arny will
dispute this with "competent" electronics.


Such a simple thing as changing power supply caps to another type (not
even another value, note) may make a difference between "average" and
"special".

Please remember that I'm more of a tinkerer than a designer, note.
But I appreciate your evaluation :-)
