Default Pioneer HU, no sound from rear speakers...

Sorry in advance if this double-posts. My son has been trying for a
couple days to install a Pioneer DEH 1600 in his '99 Ford Escort. He
mentioned something about there might be a factory installed amp that
he's not aware of? If anyone can help with this or any other info on
what the problem may be, I'd sure appreciate it.

TIA,

Lorraine

Look under the drivers seat, if there is larger black box there...that's the
factory amp.
