Hi, I was wondering whether it is possible to hook up my Hifi speakers
to my computer?

You mean the red an white cables? are you sure that'll work?

As long as they're coming from a socket labeled "Line Out". If
they're in a hole labeled "Speakers Out" you might jump a bit!
It's unlikely to harm the amplifier's inputs, but have the amp volume
turned low just in case :-)

That's standard advice when connecting anything to anything, anyway.

Get the proper adaptors to drive your amplifier that has the speakers. In
any case, your speakers will require an amplifier between them, and the
computer.

Sure. Get a cable to connect Line Out of your soundcard to Line In
(or Tape In, or CD In or just about anything except Phono In) on your
hi-fi amplifier. Probably this will be a stereo 3.5mm jack to 2 X
RCA phono plugs. This is commonly known as a "Soundcard cable".

Yep!, up and running and is amazing! If anyone has done this, try
watching Matrix reloaded on it or even just listening to Mona Lisa
overdrive, it should be illegal it's so cool!

Ah, I er came across a slight hitch, it started out all very well, the
sound was crisp and clear and LOUD!. however, a couple of tracks and a
film later, the sound became watery during music tracks and the voices
in film became dull, does anyone know what the problem is?
