You'll have to build a spacer for the new speakers no matter what because VW
riveted them to the adapters so getting any speaker in there isn't much of an issue. I've done 8's in them that were 3.5" deep. Paul Vina "James" wrote in message news:8Zc6b.369460$YN5.248606@sccrnsc01... How can I find out the mounting depth for my door speakers in my 2000 VW GTI? I'd rather not have to take my door apart, even then I'm not sure that I could measure it properly. I found the speakers I would like to get, but the mounting depth is lagre (2-11/16"), and I don't want to buy them only to find they don't fit. How am I supposed to find out this information, isn't there a database somewhere online maybe? VW's site is totally worthless. |
