Can someone suggest a website that has a beginner's guide to setting up a
hi-fi system and, for example, integrating it with home cinema.

Thanks.

Also, Bose, Polk, et al have some good beginners stuff too.

You could try searching web and newsgroups via Google.com.

that has a beginner's guide to setting up a
hi-fi system and, for example, integrating it with home cinema.

NAD has some receiver manuals online that might help. Probably any
Dolby receiver manual would explain all or most of what you need to
know to connect the gear for a Dolby home-theater system. If you have
a stereo receiver, look at Dolby receiver manuals for some ideas about
connecting all your home-theater gear, but also see stereo receiver
manuals:

I think JVC and Pioneer (and probably others) also have manuals
available online. Try their web sites.

And if you have any manuals, read 'em!

Here are some book titles:

Bose doesn't have anything that is good.
(only to keep this beginner's mind clear)
