Hi there
In reading through the archieves of previous posts, I've seen a trend in oppinion for having non-cubed sub boxes. I was wondering if any of you have some information on how angles and sound waves interact in that environment. Some basic questions I have a Are there any minimum/maximum angles between to surfaces that one wants to use in box construction? Is there a percieved output level increase with such a design? Do certian angles increase standing wave or phase issues? Of what importance is it to have the surface directly behind the speaker basket angled? And would you want this piece further diffused in shape with bracing, etc? Do opposite angles that are parallel to each other (like a trapazoid) yeild any benifit or fault? Anyone build a triangle box? Thanks for your time - I'm about to build a new box for a sub i have coming in and would like to make it special... deviate from the cube for once... Tim Walter |
