Hoping this is the right forum for this...
My amp shop is a 15'x22' room with 9'6" ceilings and can best be described as "hard". Recording and listening almost exclusively to guitar amps. Occasionally gets pretty loud. The question for the experts is a reasonable cost solution to deaden the room. Appearance doesn't matter so much. Things I've considered: - Just paste empty egg cartons to the walls. Will this work? - Build "corner baffles". I'm sure there's a better name for these, but the idea is something that goes in the room corners with the open side facing the corner. Within are various board lengths/widths to kill the corner echoes. Kinda like |_|_|_|. Problem here is I can't seem to find a good source of tech info for how to get the size/length/width etc. correct so the device will actually function. Or is the trick as simple as moving the combo/spkr cab away from the wall? Any thoughts or pointers to info are greatly appreciated. Also, not afraid to do some carpentry if that's the best solution. Thanks, -Todd |
