Hi,
Any idea if it is possible to upgrade the firmware on the car stereo, to play mp3 cd's. The car stereo is the original one in 2000 Toyota Camry, LE model. It plays the cd-r cd's though. Appreciate your help Amar |

Not unless toyota offers a head unit that does play mp3s, and it is the
exact same model but with different firmware. In order to play a mp3, you need to decode it, thus the need for a chip. I think ;p. -- ocran ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CarAudioForum.com - Usenet Gateway w/over one million posts online! I agree.
Plus, you need software to manage file location and titles, etc. David UnderTheDash.com "ocran" wrote in message s.com... IE, adding wma or aac to a mp3 player must be easy? It's just a new codec, the decoding hardware is already there. -- Eric (Dero) Desrochers Hiroshima 45, Tchernobyl 86, Windows 95 |
