I have a Sony Desktop PC that's about 2 years old with an Aureal
soundcard and AVS audio software. Can't seem to figure out how to take sound off my Marantz cassette desk on which I conduct interviews and get it into the PC so that it can be digitized by the AVS software. (I also have SoundForge XP4.5). I have the Marantz' line output going into the PC's line in. (I have also tried the microphone connection) The audio plays through the headphone output on the PC just fine. But I cannot get the digital audio editing software to "hear" the signal. I have tried every setting I can think of without success. I have gone into the audio manager and made sure that the appropriate settings have been made. I have traditionally digitized my audio on my Mac G4, but for convenience, I wanted to do it on the Sony. Any suggestions? |

I don't know anything about the software you have, but you typically need a recording program. Some PC's (and soundboards) come with a recording program, and some don't. You can probably get a freeware recording program if your soundcard does not come with the software needed. MS windows recorder will also work, but has some limitations I believe. |
