Default FM Interference on TV

I have one tv in my house that keeps picking up a specific FM station.
When I'm watching tv the station plays in the background (at a low
level, even on mute). The problem gets worse when I plug anything
into the video/audio input jacks in the tv. However, the background
sound seems to disappear when I have my hand around the cables. It is
also reduced when I move all the cables closer to the tv. Is there
some kind of shielding that I can buy to get rid of the fm
interference? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You could try the ferrite beads used on video cable and monitor cables.

Make sure all of your connections, particularly the antenna wires, are
clean and tight.

If you are using a cable TV system, make sure the cable system is
grounded at the point it enters your home.

Separate the audio, video, antenna, and power cables as much as
possible. Eliminate all extra wiring and be excessively neat with your
wires (bundle any excess, tie the bundles with a string, and keep them
close to the TV. You MUST be neat. I give this advice fairly often, but
it only works part of the time. While there are situations where this
simple solution won't work, it works more then 90% of the time when I
personally make the wires neat.

Which "mute" are you using? (TV, Stereo, ??) With respect to this
noise, is volume down all the way the same as mute?

I'm using the TV mute. When I mute the TV, the background sound is
still at the same level. I have no antenna wires, just a sat dish,
vcr and 2 gaming units.
