Do not set the reciever on Dolby 5.1, set it for Surround
What's the point? In order to do this, he would have to set his DVD player to downmix 5.1 to left and right. Then his receiver would *maybe* be able to somewhat decode the downmix in Dolby Surround which is nowhere near as good as real 5.1. I suspect his speaker setup is either not done correctly, or maybe he has some sort of late night mode turned on. |
