Default Arcam cd player cd72T or cd73T

I want to buy your cd player DiVA series.

I want to buy the cd player DiVA cd72. But I've seen that there's a new
model: cd73

I want to know who is the best quality cd player between cd72 end cd73,
because I don't know if the cd73 is really the successor of cd72. In fact
cd72T costs more than the new cd73T

Anyone can help me?

Best thanks

I haven't heard one myself, but I know someone who preferred the CD73,
and bought one to replace his old Arcam 9.

The price difference you mention is a problem for Arcam dealers, because
the newer, better player is cheaper than the old model.

I like my Arcam CD23 FMJ.

Thank you for your answer!

.... but I don't have a clear idea about what cd player to buy.

I've heard cd72T, it's wonderful! But the cd73T it's different: now it has
Wolfsson WM8740 multi-bit delta-sigma D/A converters, instead of Burr Brown
multi-bit delta-sigma converters of cd72T.

I don't know what is better between Burr-brown and Wolfsson WM8740.

Perhaps Wolfsson is the DAC mounted also in FMJ series, but with different
costruction and components... obviously!!!

What do you suggest? CD72T or CD73T?

The CD33 has four Wolfsson chips, so, yes, possibly the same chips but
in the normal number in the 73t! The upsampling converter/filtering may
be lower quality in the less expensive machine, or, rather, the CD33 is
unusually good in those areas. I admit that I prefer the FMJ metal box
to the plastic ones.

What do you suggest? CD72T or CD73T?

CD73! But that's second-hand, as I haven't heard either one!

Uh, doesn't the Arcam 9 sport RingDac?

Go figure! Nonetheless, that's what this guy did.

That's the player I want to get next. Have you found it OK with CDR?

I've never had a problem, but I don't play many types of cdr. There are
some old scratchy discs it doesn't like, but it also plays discs I'd
given up on.
