If the output on a stereo is rated 8 ohms per channel, would it be possible to bridge a 4 ohm speaker across the outputs without exceeding the amplifiers rating? Nope. In order to bridge a 4 ohm load, each amp output has to be rated for operation at 2 ohms or less. |
