RF P5002 & Infinity1230w Impedance Problem
I'm ready to buy a RF P5002 and two Infinity 1230w subs and I'm having some big issues with figuring out impedance. MY PROBLEM: I'm getting.. 2 Infinity 1230w subs (Single voice coil, 4ohm) '*Infinity 1230w Specs*' (http://tinyurl.com/44ywv) 1 Rockford Fosgate P5002 amp '*RF P5002 Specs*' (http://tinyurl.com/5tdpx) - 125 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms - 250 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms - 500 watts RMS in bridged mode at 4 ohms - stereo or bridged mono output - 4-ohm stable in bridged mode I don't know how to hook up the subs so that they'll get 250w each, or 500w combined. From what I've read so far, it seems that it would only be possible with Dual Voice Coils. If I hook the 2 subs together in parallel, it would create a single 2ohm load. No good. (right?) If I hook them together in series, it would create a single 8ohm load. No good either. Any suggestions? I really don't want to have to spend big bucks on dual voice coil if I don't have to, and the RF P5002 seems like the best amp I can get for the money. -- pigonthewing ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pigonthewing's Profile: http://www.caraudioforum.com/vbb3/me...p?userid=24859 View this thread: http://www.caraudioforum.com/vbb3/sh...d.php?t=196717 |
