U87 died - no sound. We swapped out the capsule and found it's the
electonics portion that has the problem. Any suggestions on how/where
might be the best way to get this checked out?

Quiet (when intended !).

The variable patterns.

And last but not least - the sound. Non-hyped (gentle and small) treble
boost, extended and 'silky' HF response, and warm-but-not-indistinct deep
bass. The build quality is pretty good too.

But you've really got to hear for yourself rather that trust my relatively
inexpereinced ears.
