Hello all,
I'm using an ancient Pro Tools 4 TDM system, running on a Mac 8100/110 with a 2GB Seagate Cheetah hard disk, mostly for two-track mastering. The problem is that I get a lot of Digidesign SCSI Bus errors, usually telling me my hard disk is too slow or fragmented. Usually this crashes the system, forcing me to reboot. I don't think the Cheetah is slow (it's state of the art for the time the system was new), and the files are definitely not fragmented. This happens especially when I'm working with big stereo files (say, 30 minutes long). Can anyone suggest a fix (other than junking the system for something more recent)? I'm wondering whether I can reformat the disk using different settings, or something like that. Please reply to . Thanks, Ted |
