Default Record speeds

Hi folks:

There's an exchange on the New Scientist web site:

http://www.newscientist.com/lastword...le.jsp?id=lw54

about how the various record speeds (78, 33-1/3, 45) were derived. The
answers range from almost right (the first one) to thoroughly vague (the
second one) to howlingly wrong (the third one). Finding the errors is left
as an exercise for the reader.

Peace,
Paul
